Financial advisors are typically a highly demanding group, particularly when they're expecting new technology intended to make their jobs easier. No mistakes can be made, no time lost, no data endangered, and no transactions interrupted. Such was the case when a large financial services company providing technology to the advisors needed to roll out a new product.
At one time, advisors generated proposals to their clients manually - using Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations. They were labor-intensive, not scalable, not automated, not searchable, and could contain serious errors. None of these downfalls were acceptable in the Internet age.
Also unacceptable was the fact that all data related to portfolio allocations was located in many different places with many different levels of access and security. Advisors couldn't quickly and easily change the makeup and managers of the funds for a given investment strategy.
Understanding the goals and current shortfalls, e-brilliance worked with the client to develop a web-based system that would streamline the process, the paperwork, and the portfolios. The team implemented an XML-based template engine to allow for easy maintenance of the PDF report output without the need for additional coding; designed an intelligent back-end system calculates best breakdown of investment funds based on entered data and proprietary investment strategies; and enabled one-click generation of printable PDF report representing the investment strategy for the customer.
The new software was rolled out without any problems and was quickly embraced. The bottom line: it was worth its weight in gold to financial advisors.
